Jena and Colton had that classic kind of love. They laughed with each other, cried with each other, talked out nerves with each other, danced the night away with each other; you get the point- a textbook tale as old as time. I am honored to have collaborated with and executed this day oh so beautifully!
I have to admit, this was the first wedding of mine that took 'Western Chic' to its fullest potential. Jena's crafty mother DIY'd all of the decor herself; and I must say, she did so flawlessly! Let me put this into perspective for you: the decor showed up in a pull-behind trailer on the morning of the wedding. Inside were all of the floral decor, dressers, mirrors, cow hide rugs, his and hers pink chairs, 4 foot tall stair caps, and every other detail this mom thought up. The height of the pompous grass used everywhere really filled the ceremony and reception spaces well. This sweetheart table is admittedly one of my favorites to date. Another fun aspect was the choice of food. The couple decided to do a massive grazing table, which leads me to one of my favorite details of the day. The place settings were composed of mini charcuterie boards laid into napkins, and wrapped with ribbon. Jena didn't have a specific vision for the arrangements, so my team got to get creative with the assembly. I can easily say that between three of us, we meticulously spent just over an hour assembling and placing these at each guest's place.
I always treasure getting to witness the intimate, sentimental moments of the day. Jena and Colton chose to do a first touch in lieu of a first look. There were tears (both in front of and behind thee camera), beautiful words shared, a new ring Colton surprised Jena with, and mini moments of silence filled with genuine love, anxiously awaiting to see each other in just a few short hours.
This beautiful August day will always come to mind when I reflect on one of my greats!
